Professional 
   I have been teaching in the city of Chicago for eighteen years and am so excited to begin this year as your child's teacher. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade during my time with CPS and have found 2nd and 3rd grade to be the most wonderful as this age band shows so much excitement for learning! I received my Bachelor's Degree, in Elementary Education, from Augustana College and my Master's Degree, in Educational Leadership and Administration, from Chicago State University. 
   I am also a National Board Certified Teacher with a Middle Childhood Generalist certificate (ages 7-12). I work hard to make learning relevant-integrating it within a variety of contexts so that the opportunities for learning are evident and applicable-showing my students how to make connections to the world around them. I know that my students can reach potentials they cannot yet conceive and that the boundless possibilities of my students is powerful and inspiring. I consider the social, physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of each student, as a whole child.
   I also have my ESL endorsement which has provided me with new and exciting ways to help my English language learners with their language journey. I am so looking forward to trying new teaching strategies and partaking in ample self-reflection, all to better my teaching craft.
